Locke Lord’s Affordable Housing Practice Advises Brinshore Development on Lockwood South Project in Houston
Locke Lord’s client Brinshore Development has partnered with the Buffalo Bayou Partnership for the construction of an 80-unit complex, with units reserved for households at 30%-80% of AMI. This development is part of a 10-year plan to deliver outdoor recreation, affordable housing, cultural destinations and infrastructure along the Buffalo Bayou waterway in Houston. With a complex financing stack from the Richman Group, Capital One, the City of Houston and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, the transaction took three years to close. Locke Lord’s Austin Affordable Housing Team members involved included: Cynthia Bast, Rick Morrow, Chris Richardson, Matthew Borah, Raj Bandla, Caron Byrd, Sam Hagerty and Kim Flores. The Firm’s Affordable Housing Team also received assistance from Lauren Fincher and Brian O’Reilly (both of Austin) for Texas Public Information Act advice and Chris Verducci (Houston) for construction matters.
