Chris Verducci

Chris Verducci is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Construction Law Practice Group, primarily representing clients in the energy industry. Chris also has experience in real estate and environmental litigation as well as insurance and maritime law.

Chris handles jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations. He is also frequently retained before formal dispute resolution, including in the drafting and negotiation of construction contracts and in the management of change orders and project conflicts.

Representative Construction Experience

• Represented a pipeline company in litigation against a pipe supplier relating to the shipment of late and defective pipe
• Advised the owner of an oil and gas terminal and storage facility in Houston concerning various project disputes with its general contractor and engineers
• Represented the owner of a pipeline in litigation against a general contractor involving delay, extension of time and extra work claims
• Defended the owner of a high-rise office building in downtown Houston in connection with delay claims
• Advised an owner in the negotiation of an EPC contract concerning a chemical production facility in Louisiana
• Represented a general contractor in various lawsuits and arbitrations with its subcontractors involving multi-family housing developments in Texas
• Advised the owner of a wood pellet manufacturing facility in Louisiana concerning project disputes with its general contractor and subcontractors
• Represented a pipeline company in the negotiation of a contract for the construction of an interstate pipeline
• Defended a pipeline owner in litigation over extra work claims asserted by an inspection company
• Represented various owners in the negotiation of contracts for the construction of commercial and multi-family housing developments across the United States

Representative Energy Experience

• Represented a working interest owner in litigation against an operator relating to a CO2 injection flood and well blowout in Louisiana
• Defended an energy company in litigation with a product purchaser relating to a vessel chartered by the purchaser
• Represented a midstream company in an arbitration over a non-compete agreement arising from the purchase of a marine transport business
• Defended the owner of a gas gathering facility against claims for misappropriation of trade secrets
• Represented a working interest owner in litigation involving an “area of mutual interest” in Louisiana
• Defended a midstream company in ligation filed by a counter-party relating to a gasoline and diesel transportation agreement
• Advised various energy companies concerning insurance and indemnity issues associated with the operation of onshore and offshore oil and gas interests

• Defended the owner of an NGL storage facility in litigation involving air emissions from the facility
• Represented a platform owner in litigation with the owner of a vessel that allided with the platform
• Represented an energy company in litigation involving an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico
