He has extensive experience in the representation of publicly held companies as well as counseling boards of directors and their various committees. John advises clients in a number of industries, including health care, technology, energy, financial services and hospitality.

He has extensive experience in the representation of publicly held companies as well as counseling boards of directors and their various committees. John advises clients in a number of industries, including health care, technology, energy, financial services and hospitality.

John also represents clients in a broad range of international commercial transactions that include acquisitions, sales, joint ventures, franchising and distribution arrangements, and is Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s International Transactions Practice Group.

John’s experience includes the representation of:

  • A publicly held U.S. corporation in connection with a merger with a publicly held Canadian corporation
  • A Special Committee in a "going private" sale transaction
  • A health care technology company in an exchange of preferred stock and cash for convertible debentures
  • A health care management company in a transformational joint venture transaction
  • A financial software and consulting company in its initial public offering
  • New York Stock Exchange asset management company in connection with a spin-off transaction
  • A large U.S. real estate brokerage firm in international matters, including acquisitions and franchising transactions in Australia, Europe, Africa and Latin America
  • Investment banks and issuers in stock and convertible debt financings
  • Privately held companies in initial and follow-on venture capital financing rounds
