Bart's experience includes:

  • Directed the EU launch process, allowing owners of prior rights to a name (registered and common law trade marks, trade names) to claim their EU domain name before this extension became generally available. The EU Sunrise is still considered the most complex and vast IP audit ever performed (more than 346,000 claims reviewed in 10 months)
  • Appointed as an expert by the European Commission and the European Patent Office in the context of the EU-China Project on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR2)
  • Advisor to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), where he contributed to developing the processes and procedures for applying for new generic top-level domains (New gTLD Program)
  • Advisor to the United Nations’ Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia
  • Developed AI-powered technologies focusing on the identification of IP infringements online, together with efficient IP enforcement tools (IP Metro) and analyzing and drafting documents (SourcingCockpit)
