Junko Harada is a Technical Specialist (patent agent passed) in the New York office of Locke Lord LLP where her practice focuses on the prosecution of patent applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. Junko is granted limited recognition to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She is relationship manager for the Firm's Japanese clients and is experienced in advising them in connection with their trademark search and applications as well as patent applications.
Prior to joining Locke Lord, Junko worked for a U.S. firm as a patent paralegal for one year and then as a scientific advisor. During this time she was involved with patent prosecution in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields.
Prior to moving to New York in 2007, Junko was working for the Intellectual Property Department of a major Japanese pharmaceutical and chemical company. At that time she was involved with PCT application procedures, patent searches, in-house opinion, patent prosecutions regarding pharmaceutical products, synthetic fibers such as polyester, polyamide, and acryl synthetic fibers, synthetic resins such as polystyrene, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin and plastic films.

Junko qualified as Japan Patent Attorney (Benrishi) in the biotechnology field in 2006.
During her first visit to the United States, Junko studied at Suffolk University, Boston, in the Paralegal Certificate Program (Intellectual Property) and obtained a Writing Award.
Junko graduated from a Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Science in Ochanomizu University, where she performed her thesis research on X-ray crystal structural analysis of ferrocene compound.
