Chris Garcia’s practice consists of financial services litigation, intellectual property defense, insurance defense and general commercial litigation. Specifically, Chris focuses on matters involving fair debt collection practices, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, deceptive trade practices, finance code violations, insurance code violations and fraud.
Chris’ experience spans across federal court, state court and arbitration tribunals. Chris has played an instrumental role in various aspects of the litigation process through drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery motions and written discovery requests and responses. Additionally, Chris helps to manage document productions, prepare for depositions, conduct research and contribute to litigation strategy. Chris has experience arguing in multiple levels of state court, having secured a decision in favor of a pro bono client in an eviction matter in justice court.
Chris was born and raised in Austin, Texas, where he enjoys spending time with family and friends on the lake. Prior to joining Locke Lord, Chris served as a legal extern for the Hon. Stacey G. C. Jernigan of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.
