Beichen Chen focuses her practice on intellectual property and patent law. She has vast experience in patent prosecution services, including reviewing invention disclosures, drafting U.S. patent applications, preparing responses to office actions in the areas of cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, microbiology and molecular chemistry as well as mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, optical engineering, petroleum engineering and medical device and surgical device engineering. Beichen has additional experience in patent and trademark litigation, patent counseling and Section 337 investigations.

Beichen Chen focuses her practice on intellectual property and patent law. She has vast experience in patent prosecution services, including reviewing invention disclosures, drafting U.S. patent applications, preparing responses to office actions in the areas of cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, microbiology and molecular chemistry as well as mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, optical engineering, petroleum engineering and medical device and surgical device engineering. Beichen has additional experience in patent and trademark litigation, patent counseling and Section 337 investigations.

Prior to attending law school, Beichen worked as a graduate student and a research assistant in a molecular genetics laboratory at the University of Iowa, focusing on the genetic basis of several human diseases/disorders. Her research involved the role of Myb complex in chromosome structures and disorders in transcription regulation as well as the genetic basis of schizophrenia and renal agenesis. Beichen also worked as a research assistant in biophysics at the Chinese Academy of Science and in applied microbiology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China.

After law school, Beichen worked as a legal associate for a technology company in the optics industry and an IP law firm in Massachusetts, where she gained experience in patent prosecution and intellectual property transaction matters.
