New York Partner Richard Reibstein co-authored an article last summer detailing several sexual harassment laws recently passed in New York State and New York City. The new laws, enacted in the wake of the #MeToo movement, will require employers to provide annual sexual harassment prevention training to all workers, distribute a comprehensive sexual harassment prevention policy and update their form employment contracts and settlement agreements. The authors review key parts of the state law, including a ban on non-disclosure agreements, specific training requirements and protections for non-employees.
