Locke Lord’s Brian Hays, Partner in the Firm’s Chicago office, co-authored an article for Data Protection Leader examining the FCC’s May 2018 announcement seeking comments on key definitions, including what constitutes an automatic telephone dialing system, under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) in light of the decision in ACA International v. FCC. The authors explain how these, and other recent developments, may have a significant impact on the scope of the TCPA going forward.
