Locke Lord Partner Richard Glovsky Interviewed by 7News Boston on Implications for Employers of FDA Approval of Pfizer's COVID-19 Vaccine

Locke Lord’s Richard Glovsky, a Partner in the Firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, shared insights with 7News Boston on the FDA’s approval of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine and what it means for employers. As some employers, including select theaters in Boston, adopt vaccine mandates, Glovsky noted FDA approval eliminates the argument against the vaccine on the grounds it had only received emergency use approval.

“Now they are approved across the board," he said.

Glovsky also noted private businesses can make decisions about the conditions under which employees are allowed in their work space and generally may terminate workers who do not comply.

“They are required to keep the workplace safe and healthy. And that's paramount to many employers, as it should be,” he said.
