Locke Lord Public Finance Team Ranked Fourth in The Bond Buyer's First Half 2020 Top Bond Counsel for Competitive Sales and Fifth in Top Underwriter's Counsel

Locke Lord was ranked fourth on The Bond Buyer’s list of top bond counsel in the nation for competitive sales during the first half of 2020, with 73 issues totaling $1.48 billion, and fifth on the Top Underwriter’s Counsel list, with 35 issues totaling $5.98 billion. The firm also ranked second nationally for private bond counsel.

Locke Lord’s recent Public Finance notable matters include acting as bond counsel for the Town of Belmont, Mass., in the sale of $103.5 million of General Obligation Bonds; acting as bond counsel to the State of New Hampshire for the issuance of $80.18 million General Obligation Capital Improvement Bonds, 2020 Series A, and acting as bond counsel to the City of Cambridge, Mass., for the issuance of $46.7 million of General Obligation Municipal Purpose Loan of 2020 Bonds to support various municipal infrastructure projects.

The team has also recently served as underwriters’ counsel in connection with the following notable financings: the Grand Parkway Transportation Corporation’s issuance of $2.3 billion Grand Parkway System Toll Revenue Refunding Bonds; the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ issuance of $1.4 billion of General Obligation Bonds; the Massachusetts School Building Authority’s issuance of $1.09 billion of Senior Dedicated Sales Tax Refunding Bonds, 2020 Series B, and $350 million of Senior Dedicated Sales Tax Bonds, 2020 Series A; the Texas Transportation Commission’s issuance of $794.24 million of Texas Highway Improvement General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Taxable Series 2020, and the City of San Antonio’s issuance of $471.59 million General Improvement Refunding Bonds.
