Locke Lord is recognized as one of the top bond counsel firms nationally and in Massachusetts, with more than 100 years of involvement in the law of public borrowing and the federal tax aspects of public debt obligations making us one of the oldest public finance practices in the country. Our attorneys have extensive experience serving as bond counsel to government entities as well as corporate and not-for-profit obligors in conduit financings in connection with the issuance of taxable and tax-exempt debt. With over 30 public finance professionals, Locke Lord has one of the largest bond counsel practices in the country.

Our Public Finance Group has comprehensive experience in preparing legal, tax and disclosure documentation for governmental issuers and in advising governmental, corporate and nonprofit clients on all aspects of federal tax and securities laws. During the past six years, we have participated on over 4,000 issues of taxable and tax-exempt bonds and notes totaling over $80 billion, covering a wide array of industries and projects including, but not limited to:
