Locke Lord’s Nina Huerta Reelected President of Mexican ‎‎American Bar Foundation

(LOS ANGELES) December 5, 2019 – Locke Lord's Nina Huerta, Managing Partner of the Firm's Los Angeles office and Chair of the Firm’s Practice Development Committee, has been reelected President of the Mexican American Bar Foundation (MABF) for a fourth term. At Locke Lord, Huerta also serves as the Hiring Partner for the Firm’s Los Angeles office and is a member of the Firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Law School Recruiting Coordinating Committee and Women’s Initiative, which she previously Chaired.

As MABF President, Huerta leads the organization’s efforts to enhance the diversity of the legal profession through supporting women and men of Latino heritage who are pursuing careers in the law. She was unanimously elected MABF President in 2016 and has served as a Trustee since 2015.

Huerta actively participates in a variety of community organizations dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion and excellence in the legal profession. She is a member of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association and serves on the Los Angeles Summer Legal Institute Steering Committee of Just the Beginning — A Pipeline Organization. She is also a member of the Labor and Employment Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and National Employment Law Council and regularly speaks at conferences, legal meetings and other events across the country.

Huerta, a member of Locke Lord’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, focuses her practice on business and employment litigation. She has represented companies in cases involving claims of employment discrimination and harassment, employment misclassification, breach of contract and wage and hour violations. Huerta has assisted clients with defending class actions, including wage and hour class actions brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and California Labor Code. In addition, she has represented mortgage lenders, servicers and other financial institutions in defending against individual and class action claims for violations of various state and federal laws governing lending and servicing of residential mortgage loans.
