Locke Lord Public Finance Partner Jennifer Capasso Mendonça Named 2018 Rising Star by The Bond Buyer

(BOSTON) October 3, 2018 – Locke Lord’s Jennifer Capasso Mendonça, Public Finance Partner based in the Firm’s Boston office, was named a 2018 Rising Star by The Bond Buyer. The honorees — municipal finance professionals who have demonstrated leadership skills, collaboration, innovation and creativity in approaching their jobs and have made positive contributions to the community — were announced Monday evening at The Bond Buyer’s California Public Finance Conference. 

Mendonça serves on the Board of Directors for Boston Women in Public Finance, Inc. and is a board liaison to the Associate’s Committee, which focuses on ways to engage Boston’s new public finance industry entrants. She is also highly involved with the National Association of Bond Lawyers, having served as a panelist at the annual Bond Attorneys’ Workshop (BAW) and Tax and Securities Law Institute conferences since 2010, and currently serving as a member of BAW’s Steering Committee since 2016. Additionally, Mendonça serves on the Board of Directors of Greater Boston Legal Services and has been a member of its Finance Committee since 2016, overseeing the management of the organization’s financial assets, capital assets and investments.

Mendonça focuses her practice exclusively on all aspects of governmental and tax-exempt finance, as bond counsel, borrower's counsel, underwriter's counsel, bank counsel and disclosure counsel in a broad variety of tax-exempt and taxable financings. She was recently named to the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2018 Top Women of Law list. Mendonça has been selected as a leader in her field by Chambers USA every year since 2015 in Massachusetts Banking and Finance: Public Finance and as a Massachusetts Rising Star by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters publication, every year since 2009. She was also named an Up & Coming Lawyer honoree by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2015.
