Locke Lord’s Glenn Pudelka Elected President of Copyright Society of the USA

(BOSTON) June 13, 2018 – Glenn Pudelka, Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Trademark, Copyright and Advertising Practice Group, was elected President of the Copyright Society of the USA (Copyright Society) at the conclusion of the organization’s 2018 Annual Meeting on Tuesday. Pudelka, who served a two-year term as Vice President/President-Elect, will lead the Copyright Society in its mission to foster interest in and advance the study and understanding of copyright law in various works of authorship worldwide.

Based in Locke Lord’s Boston office, Pudelka has extensive experience in the area of copyright and focuses on handling various content licensing, distribution, supply and commercial agreements. He represents individuals and companies, as well as numerous colleges and universities, in publishing/entertainment, digital media, software, internet, content and biotechnology fields. Pudelka is also a member of the Firm's Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Among his representative experience, Pudelka routinely counsels and negotiates various publishing collaboration and content licensing transactions for publishing clients; second chaired a copyright/breach of contract litigation for a major publishing company; and defended an apparel client in copyright infringement litigation regarding use of photographs. Pudelka also negotiates software, distribution, website terms of use and privacy policies and other commercial agreements and licenses.

The Copyright Society is a nonprofit organization devoted to copyright law awareness and education. The organization, which was founded in 1953, has more than 1,000 members nationwide and regional chapters in over a dozen major U.S. cities.
