Locke Lord Names Corporate Trust Leader and Board Member Laura Edrington First Woman to Serve as Houston Office Managing Partner

January 23, 2018 – Locke Lord’s Laura Edrington, Chair of the Firm’s Corporate Trust Practice Group and member of the Firm’s Board of Directors, has been named Houston Office Managing Partner. Edrington will lead more than 130 lawyers in Houston, one of Locke Lord’s largest offices. 

Edrington, who has been with Locke Lord her entire legal career, succeeds David Taylor as leader of the Firm’s Houston office. As previously announced, Taylor became Chair of Locke Lord on Jan. 1, 2018. Edrington has held a number of leadership roles within the Firm, including serving as a member of its Women’s Initiative Committee and as Hiring Partner for the Houston office.

David Harrell, Chair of the Firm’s Business Litigation and Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration Practice Groups, continues his role as Deputy Managing Partner of the Houston office.

She is well recognized as a leader in representing trustees in connection with events of default. Financial institutions regularly seek her advice in connection with complex financial structures both in negotiating documents for new issuances as well as in connection with dispute resolution.
