Locke Lord’s Christopher Fontenelli to Receive Inaugural New Jersey State Bar Association Pro Bono Award: New Attorney

The NJSBA Board of Trustees and the Pro Bono Committee cited Fontenelli’s “consistent and unwavering dedication to children in need” and his commitment to and passion for helping the underserved in New Jersey through his volunteer work with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND).

Fontenelli has provided pro bono services to KIND since the inception of his legal career, when he accepted three cases as a first-year lawyer. He has represented numerous unaccompanied children who enter the U.S. immigration system alone to help advance the child's best interests, safety and well-being. Founded by Angelina Jolie and the Microsoft Corporation, KIND is a leading organization dedicated to providing compassionate and quality legal counsel to unaccompanied refugee and immigrant children in the United States.

A member of Locke Lord’s Products Liability group, Fontenelli's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation in the areas of products liability, class actions, mass tort, commercial contractual disputes, and internal corporate investigations.

Fontenelli earned his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law and undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University. While pursuing his law degree, Fontenelli interned with the Honorable Madeline Cox Arleo, United States District Judge, of the District of New Jersey and the Honorable Donald H. Steckroth, United States Bankruptcy Judge, of the District of New Jersey (Ret.).
