Cybersecurity Law: Deciphering the Landscape of Legal Requirements Applicable to Businesses and Law Firms
Morning Program: 10:30 am- 12:00 pm
All businesses have a legal obligation to provide “appropriate” or “reasonable” cybersecurity for their data. But what does that mean? This session will explore the nature of the duty to provide reasonable cybersecurity, the source of the duty, and the requirements that must be satisfied to comply with that obligation. It will also address board-level responsibilities for cybersecurity, as well as the additional ethical duties regarding cybersecurity imposed on lawyers, law firms, and in-house legal departments.
