Locke Lord Team Serves as Bond Counsel to City of Quincy, Massachusetts, on Issuance of $10 Million Blockchain-Based Bonds

A Locke Lord team led by Rick Manley, with support from Walter St. Onge, Michael Meidinger (all of Boston) and Todd Cooper (Cincinnati), served as bond counsel to the City of Quincy, Massachusetts, on its issuance of $10 million tax-exempt bonds using blockchain technology. The issuance is the first-of-its-kind in the United States and used a platform employing distributed ledger technology, a collection of technological infrastructure that enables recording transactions in multiple locations simultaneously.
