A Locke Lord team led by Paul Coggins and assisted by Jennifer McCoy (both of Dallas) secured a ruling from the Eastern District of Texas in favor of Dr. Ray Ng, one of 12 people indicted in the alleged conspiracy to accept illegal remuneration. After a five-week trial in Texarkana, a federal jury returned a not guilty verdict against Dr. Ng in connection with an alleged conspiracy to commit illegal remunerations in violation of the Anti-Kickback Statute. More specifically, the government alleged that the defendants and their unindicted co-conspirators paid and received kickbacks in exchange for the administration of Pharmacogenetic (PGx) tests under the Medicare program. Additional assistance was provided by Michele Naudin, Holly Atchley and Veronica Long (all of Dallas).
