Joshua Jones' practice involves the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications as well as intellectual property litigation support with an emphasis on mechanical devices and systems. His technical background is in mechanical engineering, with a particular emphasis on fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
While attending the University of Connecticut School of Law prior to joining the Firm, Joshua interned at Nufern, a Connecticut manufacturer and developer of optic fibers. At Nufern Joshua worked with in-house counsel to help prepare and prosecute patent applications related to a new line of products. Joshua also clerked for the Department of the Navy Office of General Counsel, where he assisted in drafting patent claims at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. During his Navy clerkship he also researched and drafted legal memoranda on issues related to open source software and environmental law issues in the Office of Naval Research.
