Locke Lord Creates and Represents Greater Texas Cultural Education Facilities Finance Corporation to Act as Conduit Issuer of Tax-Exempt Debt on Behalf of Southwest Transplant Alliance

Locke Lord’s DeLaina Mulcahy (Houston) created and represented Greater Texas Cultural Education Facilities Finance Corporation to act as a conduit issuer of tax-exempt debt on behalf of the Firm’s client Southwest Transplant Alliance. Southwest Transplant Alliance is a nonprofit organization that provides the clinical services needed to recover, prepare and transport organs and tissue for those awaiting organ transplants. The $25,000,000 construction loan from UMB Bank to the Alliance will be used by the company to acquire additional real property for its operations and to make improvements to its 60,000-square-foot headquarters. Mike Schulman (Dallas), Stephanie Massey (Boston) and Todd Cooper (Cincinnati) acted as bond counsel, borrower’s counsel and tax counsel in the transaction.
