FTC Challenges Jefferson-Einstein Merger

Providence Partner Joe Farside authored an article for the American Health Lawyers Association detailing the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) administrative complaint against the proposed merger of Pennsylvania health care systems Thomas Jefferson University and Albert Einstein Healthcare Network. The FTC alleges the merger would violate the Clayton Antitrust Act and FTC Act 1 by “increas[ing] market concentration to a presumptively unlawful level” and decreasing competition, they write.
