On February 15, many insurance companies, producers and others with New York DFS licenses and other authorizations (except for certain entities and employees who have filed for an exemption) will need to file a compliance certificate as required by the New York Department of Financial Services Cybersecurity Regulation. As described in our previously published articles here, and here, the compliance certificate relates to the Covered Entity’s satisfaction of all requirements of the Regulation that had a transition date of August 28, 2017. Additional requirements will roll out over additional transition periods beginning March 1, 2018.
