Chicago Locke Lord Partner Mark Silverman Quoted by Law360 on Large Uptick in CMBS Delinquencies in Hotel Sector

Mark Silverman, Partner and CMBS Special Servicer Team Leader in Locke Lord’s Chicago office, was quoted by Law360 on the lodging industry experiencing the highest rise in commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) delinquencies in November from the prior month, according to data from Trepp.

He noted that the hospitality industry continues to endure rising prices. “If you look at the cost of food, cost of other goods, wages, it still becomes incredibly expensive to operate a hotel. There are brand standard changes that are required in order to keep in compliance with your franchise agreement,” Silverman said.
