Houston Locke Lord Partner Jennie Simmons was quoted by The Texas Lawbook on Texas’ deal market, noting the continued strong appetite for transactions despite the slowdown in M&A activity. Simmons explains, in general, deals are moving slower due to a lack of market volatility, leading many to reevaluate and determine whether or not to move forward.

“It’s been a very interesting year thus far, to say the least,” she said. “The most interesting part has been simply the episodic nature and unpredictability of the recent deal flow. I am not even sure that you can use the word trend to describe the past six months.”
