Locke Lord’s John Arnold Quoted by Platts Megawatt Daily From Virtual Gulf Coast Power Association Forum on Plans in Wake of 2021’s Winter Storm Uri

John Arnold, Partner in Locke Lord’s Houston office and member of the Firm's Board of Directors, was quoted by Platts Megawatt Daily from Gulf Coast Power Association’s virtual forum on plans in the wake of February 2021’s Winter Storm Uri, noting the Public Utility Commission of Texas directed ERCOT to establish the new Firm Fuel Supply Service.

“We have discussed with the commission and with ERCOT that interstate pipelines that would continue to qualify under this definition really only supply approximately 15% of the generation resources in our economy,” Arnold said. “The vast majority of the transportation capacity to generation resources in ERCOT is via intrastate pipelines that would be excluded.”
