Richard Reibstein, a Partner in Locke Lord’s Labor and Employment Practice in New York, was quoted in an article examining the U.S. Department of Labor’s recently issued joint employer rule and the possibility that the rule could reduce litigation filed against employers. Reibstein noted that the impact of the rule, which goes into effect March 16, depends on whether the courts give weight to these new regulations.
Reibstein said that courts usually give deference to well-reasoned regulations and noted that the new joint employer regulations appear to have been extremely thoughtful and took into account the views of stakeholders on every side of the legal question.”
