Locke Lord’s Hartford Lawyers Volunteer at the Keep the Power On Clinic Hosted by the Center for Children’s Advocacy

April 29, 2019

On April 29, 2019, Locke Lord lawyers from the Firm’s Hartford office volunteered at the Keep the Power On Utility Clinic, hosted in conjunction with the Center for Children’s Advocacy Medical/Legal Partnership Project. The clinic is available a few times throughout the year and is aimed to help families avoid utility termination and help them enter into affordable payment arrangements with gas and electric companies in Connecticut.

During the clinic, Locke Lord lawyers worked cooperatively with area residents and various utility companies to find mutually acceptable payment plans whereby the residents, who were in imminent danger of having their utilities disconnected, would be able to keep their utilities connected. Locke Lord Lawyers also helped the residents apply for energy assistance and community resources with partner Community Action Agencies.

Founded in 1997, the Center for Children’s Advocacy is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the legal rights of Connecticut's most vulnerable children.
