Chicago Partner and Co-Chair of the Firm's Corporate and Transactional Department Michael Renetzky is quoted extensively on what’s next for the fiduciary rule after the Aug. 9 announcement by the U.S. Department of Labor that it plans to further delay parts of it.
Renetzky said about the possibility of the DOL altering the contract exemption, in particular: “I think that the chances are significantly greater now that they would take that approach than they were two days ago. I think it opens up that possibility in a much more real way.”
