Locke Lord Cincinnati Office Managing Partner Todd Cooper Appointed Chair of ABA Section of Taxation’s Committee on Tax-Exempt Financing

August 15, 2017 – Locke Lord’s Todd Cooper, Managing Partner of the Firm’s Cincinnati office, has been appointed Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation’s Committee on Tax-Exempt Financing for a two-year term. Previously, Cooper served as Vice Chair of the Committee.

In his new role, Cooper will lead the Committee as it provides continuing education for its members and addresses issues relating to the federal exclusion from gross income of interest on state and local bonds and pertaining to tax credit bonds.

Cooper is a member of Locke Lord’s highly rated Public Finance Practice Group, which recently ranked among the top law firms for bond counsel in the United States by The American Lawyer Corporate Scorecard. He focuses his practice on tax matters related to public finance, tax matters related to tax-exempt organizations and tax matters related to state and federal tax credits. He also provides bond and underwriter’s counsel services to clients on public finance transactions.

Cooper was elected a Regular Fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel, chaired its Membership Selection Committee and is currently serving on its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Development Board and its Partners in Action Committee and the President of the Board of Directors of the Catamount Residential Owners Association in Colorado. Cooper previously served on the Board of Trustees of the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority, The Summit Country Day School, and St. Ursula Villa.

In addition to being AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Cooper has also been listed in Ohio Super Lawyers. He was featured in the 2013 edition of Top Lawyers in Ohio and the 2012 and 2013 editions of Who’s Who in Greater Cincinnati Law.
