Providence’s Mark Freel, a Partner in Locke Lord’s Litigation Department, has been named Chairman of the New England Legal Foundation (NELF) Legal Review Committee that decides which cases merit NELF’s participation as an amicus in courts around New England and in the U.S. Supreme Court. Freel is also on the NELF Board of Directors. NELF was founded in 1977 and is a nonprofit public law interest foundation that addresses business issues in litigation. Its mission is “promoting public discourse on the proper role of free enterprise in our society and advancing free enterprise principles in the courtroom.”
