Austin Partner Susan Kidwell, President of the Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas for 2017, spoke with Texas Lawyer to discuss the environment of funding for legal aid organizations in Texas. Kidwell noted: “The reality is when the federal government cuts funding from what they provide, that means there's less out there. We become one of the organizations that people are probably looking at to fill gaps.”
