Locke Lord’s Ann Ryan Robertson Re-Elected Trustee for Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

November 7, 2016 – Locke Lord International Partner Ann Ryan Robertson has been re-elected Trustee for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). In her re-election by the Americas region, Robertson will serve another four-year leadership term beginning January 2017. She will continue to work among the 14-member Board of Trustees to set policy for the 14,000-plus member organization. The CIArb supports the global promotion, facilitation and development of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods.

An international center of excellence for professionals within the ADR sector, the CIArb contributes to the development of ADR methods through education, training, guidance and networking. Seven Locke Lord lawyers are members of the CIArb, with Robertson and Locke Lord Houston lawyers Derrick Carson and David Harrell holding the distinction of being Fellows in the organization.

Robertson serves as an arbitrator and advocate in international and domestic arbitrations. Her practice focuses primarily on commercial and energy-related disputes. Named to Global Arbitration Review’s “Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration” in 2015 and 2016, Robertson has previously been recognized in 2017 and 2014 as Lawyer of the Year, International Arbitration - Governmental (Houston) by The Best Lawyers in America. Robertson is an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center and for more than a decade has coached the UH Law Center’s Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot team, which competes annually in Hong Kong. In 2016, she was the recipient of the UH Law Center’s Private Sector Achievement Award.
