Ted Augustinos, Office Managing Partner of Locke Lord’s Hartford office and a member of the Firm's Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group, was quoted in a Risk & Insurance article on government regulations and data requests for insurance carriers. In certain circumstances, regulators may request sensitive client information held by insurance carriers. Augustinos commented on insurance company client data collected or transmitted through smartphones, noting: “The government could subpoena geolocation data collected through a fitness app,” and how that data could come into play if the insurance company received it.
