Locke Lord Recognized by Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas for Firm's Commitment to Pro Bono Legal Services

(AUSTIN) August 12, 2016 – Locke Lord was recently honored with a 2016 Judge Suzanne Covington Pro Bono Service award on behalf of Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas (VLS). The Firm was recognized as a Pro Bono Champion, based on the number of pro bono cases handled by Locke Lord lawyers over the past year as well as the level of financial support provided by the Firm and individual lawyers.

The Covington awards honor and celebrate attorneys and firms that devoted an extraordinary amount of time providing legal services to low-income clients of VLS in 2015. Susan Kidwell, Partner in the Firm’s Austin office and President-Elect of VLS, attended the awards reception in May.

“We are honored to be recognized by VLS for the legal services we provided to the Austin community over the past year,” Kidwell said. “We are committed to helping the mission of the VLS to provide assistance with the critical matters they face in ensuring that poverty is not a barrier to justice and we look forward to continuing our work for the organization.”
