Locke Lord Partner Brad Weber Named ‘2015 Trailblazer’ By The National Law Journal

October 6, 2015

(DALLAS) October 6, 2015 – Locke Lord International Partner Brad Weber, who serves as Co-Leader of the Firm-wide Antitrust Practice and is currently President of the Dallas Bar Association, was selected by The National Law Journal as a “2015 Trailblazer” in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Antitrust special section of the publication. Weber was honored for his pioneering spirit and strategy in the antitrust sector.

National Law Journal editors noted that Weber “blazed trails when he represented Priceline.com and Booking.com in a multi-district class action price-fixing case against them and all of the other major online travel reservation companies and most of the major hotel chains. Weber and the other defense counsel were able to get the many cases consolidated in the Northern District of Texas, where the judge granted a motion to dismiss and then denied the plaintiff’s motion to amend.”

Weber also worked with a team of Locke Lord trial lawyers in representing Retractable Technologies, Inc. against Becton Dickinson in an antitrust case involving claims under Section 2 of the Sherman Act. Following a jury verdict, the district court entered a final judgment in favor of the Firm’s client for $340.5 million, plus attorneys’ fees and injunctive relief.

Weber’s recent cases involved clients from industries such as building products, travel services, energy, healthcare, medical devices, telecommunications, hotels and agriculture. He also has extensive experience representing clients in class action and multidistrict litigation. Weber practices in both the Dallas and Washington, D.C. offices.

This was The National Law Journal’s inaugural “Trailblazers” listing for Mergers & Acquisitions and Antitrust lawyers.
