Patrick Hatfield, a Partner based in Locke Lord’s Austin office who has focused on financial services, intellectual property and technology throughout his legal career, was quoted throughout a Bloomberg BNA article on e-signature solutions. Hatfield shared that companies looking to mitigate the authentication risk should use an e-signature solution with a “shared secret,” or a combination of questions that only the real person is likely to know, such as a driver's license number. To determine which type of e-signature technology is best for each business, Hatfield recommended that practitioners should identify and focus on the transactions with the highest volume for their companies or clients.
