August 27, 2015 – Locke Lord Chair Jerry Clements has been selected as a Lifetime Achievement honoree by the editors of Texas Lawyer for her contributions to the legal profession in the Lone Star State throughout her career. She is one of 22 influential lawyers across the state who will be recognized by the publication at an event later this year.
This is the latest recognition for Clements: Earlier this year she was named the 2015 Baylor Lawyer of the Year – the first woman to receive this honor in the 53-year history of the program – by the Baylor Law Alumni Association. Clements has been previously recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in the country by the National Law Journal, one of the 30 Extraordinary Women in Texas Law by Texas Lawyer and one of Texas’ Most Powerful Women by the Texas Diversity Council.
Clements manages a global law firm with 23 offices serving clients around the world that is consistently ranked among the Top 100 law firms by The American Lawyer magazine. She is a driving force in strategically building Locke Lord into a highly-respected legal resource on the international stage, including leading the merger this year of Locke Lord with Edwards Wildman. Prior to being elected Chair of Locke Lord, Clements served as Managing Partner of one of its predecessor firms, Locke Liddell & Sapp, and headed Locke Liddell’s Litigation Section from 2001-2006.
