Paul Kaplan, featured speaker at the EY Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services and Locke Lord Antitrust Seminar, describes what happens when the U.S. Department of Justice launches an investigation of a company and its employees, discuss how to prevent and antitrust violations through a robust compliance program, and provide practical advice about responding to government investigations.

Antitrust risk is a growing compliance concern for multinational companies. The trend of increased antitrust enforcement continues across the world: In Fiscal Year 2014, 12 people were sentenced to prison in the United States; the U.S. Department of Justice secured fines of over $1.27 billion. The European Union issued approximately $2.3 billion in antitrust fines, while the total in Brazil was $1.3 billion. Antitrust regulators in Japan, China and other countries were also active.

Every global company should understand its antitrust risk exposure and have a program in place to guard against violations across its global business operations.
