Houston Litigation Team Secures Decision in Favor of Midstream Client in Contract and Fraud Dispute in One of First Fully Remote Arbitration Hearings

Chris Dove and Christian Perez (both of Houston) recently secured a decision in favor of their client, a national midstream company, in a contract dispute with a West Virginia pipeline contractor. The dispute was administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and the proceeding was one of the first fully remote arbitration hearings conducted by the AAA. The dispute centered over the client’s termination of the parties’ contract, after which the contractor initiated arbitration and sought to recover over $6,000,000 under breach of contract and various fraud theories. After a three-day, fully remote arbitration, the arbitrator entered a take nothing award in favor of Locke Lord’s client and discharged the company from any and all liability.
