Locke Lord Recognized as Top Contributing Law Firm For 2014-15 United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Campaign

June 24, 2015 – Locke Lord has been recognized as the Top Contributing Law Firm for its support of the 2014-15 United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ campaign – contributing in excess of $240,000 to United Way’s regional annual fund-raising effort this year.

The award was presented as part of the United Way’s 6th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon and Awards Ceremony honoring exceptional volunteer and business support in the community.

“Locke Lord has a long history of supporting the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, and we are dedicated to the mission of the United Way in helping our community,” said the Firm’s Dallas Office United Way Chair, Carl Scherz. “We thank our staff and attorneys who worked so hard throughout the year to reach our campaign goals, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with the community and United Way in the future.”

The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas is a locally governed and volunteer-led organization that works with community partners to deliver more than 300 education, income and health programs across North Texas, and many of Locke Lord’s lawyers actively volunteer on the board and on committees of United Way. The Firm’s contributions will be used to support the mission of the United 2020 plan, a set of 10-year community goals in education, income and health.

Scherz is an Advisory Council member and a former Board Member of the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. He also is an Alexis de Tocqueville member of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and a recipient of the organization’s “Give Volunteer Award.”
