Kathleen J. Swan

Kathleen Swan serves as Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Venture Capital & Emerging Companies Section. She focuses her practice on venture capital, private equity and institutional private placements. Kathleen has represented clients within a number of diverse industries including health care, retail, technology, insurance, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and utilities operations. She has represented venture capitalists, angel investors, angel groups, institutional investors, start-ups, emerging growth companies, corporate venture funds, investment bankers and equity sponsors in both equity and debt transactions.

Kathleen lectures on entrepreneurship issues at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and participates in the New Venture Challenge, the Global New Venture Challenge and the Social New Venture Challenge. She is a regular speaker for the Clean Energy Trust (Evergreen Climate Innovations), the Florida Venture Forum and the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education as well as various other venture and private equity forums.
