Overview

Claudia Matzko serves as bond counsel to cities, towns, state agencies, counties, districts and political subdivisions throughout New England. She assists government entities, 501(c)(3) organizations, investment banking institutions and banks in all phases of the issuing of taxable and tax-exempt debt for the purpose of generating revenue to finance various projects for public and nonprofit organizations. Claudia also provides services as counsel to underwriters in connection with general obligation and revenue financings.

Prior to attending law school, Claudia was a Professor of Art at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

  • Served as bond counsel to the City of Cambridge, Massachusetts, in connection with the issuance of its $45,695,000 General Obligation Municipal Purpose Loan of 2020 Bonds
  • Served as bond counsel to the City of Somerville, Massachusetts, in connection with the issuance of its (i) $24,330,000 General Obligation Municipal Purpose Loan of 2020 Bonds, (ii) $63,150,510 General Obligation Bond Anticipation Notes, Series A and (iii) $55,000,000 General Obligation Bond Anticipation Notes, Series B
  • Served as bond counsel to the Woods Hole, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket Steamship Authority, Massachusetts, in connection with the issuance of its $20,630,000 Steamship Bonds, 2020 Series A
  • Served as bond counsel to the City of Newton, Massachusetts, in connection with the issuance of its $34,905,000 General Obligation Municipal Purpose Loan of 2020 Bonds
