Kait Levine-Brown is an associate in the New York office of Locke Lord LLP where her practice includes government investigations and white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, complex business litigation, and employment law. Kait has experience representing both companies and individuals in state and federal False Claims Act investigations and FCPA investigations, conducting independent investigations into allegations of serious misconduct including sexual misconduct, and working with companies undertaking internal investigations related to employment and compliance matters. Kait has participated in the representation of both companies and individuals in complex business disputes in both courtroom litigation and arbitration up to and through trial. She also maintains a pro bono practice, assisting in representing clients in federal criminal cases, which have involved evidentiary challenges in a drug conspiracy case and issues of competency in a financial crimes case.
Prior to joining Locke Lord, Kait received a Master’s of Science degree from the London School of Economics where she focused her studies on international development economics and politics. Her thesis examining the link between decentralization policies and the rise of organized crime received highest honors. Kait previously worked in Washington, D.C. as an associate in public affairs and government relations and has experience with media strategy and crisis communications.

- Member of investigative team that produced an independent report of past sexual abuse at The Hotchkiss School.
- Represented a large healthcare company in a state Attorney General Office’s investigation into a whistleblower’s false claims act allegations with no action taken by the state.
- Represented witnesses in a federal False Claims Act investigation with no action taken against the witnesses.
- Assisted with cross-border due diligence for purposes of FCPA compliance related to client's acquisition of target company.
- Represented an individual in a complex business dispute with former venture capital firm, specializing in early and late-stage life sciences investing. The case involved issues of fiduciary duty, fraud, accounting, and breaches of contract. Obtained full dismissal of all claims against the individual and an award in the client’s favor valued over $15 million.
- Assisted with internal investigation into whistleblower’s claims of financial misconduct.
