Kanasha Herbert has a broad corporate law background with significant experience representing companies and entrepreneurs in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions, securities finance and compliance, intercompany spin-off and wind-down transactions, and corporate governance matters. She regularly represents private equity funds in portfolio acquisitions and venture capital funds, angel investors and emerging growth companies in debt and equity financings. She was previously an associate at two large Boston-based international law firms.

Prior to joining the Firm, Kanasha was Vice President and Senior Counsel at State Street Corporation, where she served as the primary legal counsel representing its Global Markets division's prime brokerage alternative principal securities lending and managed peer-to-peer securities lending business lines, including providing legal advice to the division on product and regulatory related matters and representing the division in contract negotiations with hedge funds, mutual funds and other institutional investor clients. She was also previously an associate at two large Boston-based law firms.

Kanasha was a hardware engineer for HP Inc. prior to attending law school.

Kanasha’s representative experience includes:
  • Represented a pharmacy benefits manager in a management buyout
  • Genesis Volatility, a crypto options analytics platform provider, in its acquisition by Amberdata
  • Natural Polymers, LLC, a manufacturer of spray polyurethane foam products, in its acquisition by Owens Corning
  • Rapid Genomics, a provider of mid-to high-density Next Generation Sequencing kits and services for genotyping, in its sale to LGC, Biosearch Technologies
  • Represented an international health insurance company in its purchase of a majority interest in a business concern with an enterprise value of $100 million which furnishes health benefit plan administration and provider network access to employers and other third parties on a regional basis
  • Represented facilities management company in its $72 million acquisition of a commercial janitorial services company
  • Represented a major insurance carrier in connection with its investment of $50 million in a Series E Preferred Stock issued by a healthcare analytics corporation
  • Represented a behavioral health platform provider  in its $33 million Series B Preferred Stock capital raise transaction
