As an associate in Locke Lord’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice group, Sky Emison concentrates her practice on complex litigation, arbitration, and healthcare regulatory matters. She has substantial experience representing clients within the insurance, reinsurance, and health care industries.
Sky counsels clients with all aspects of the litigation process, including initial case evaluation and risk assessment, discovery, pleadings and motions, hearings, pre-trial, trial, post-trial, and appeals. In addition, Sky has represented clients on multiple major health care insurance acquisitions in order to obtain approval from state insurance departments.
Sky is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee, the Co-Chair of the Associates Committee of the Chicago Chapter of the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law, and is an HFS Chicago Scholars mentor. Sky maintains an active pro bono practice, in which she has represented individuals in a variety of civil proceedings.
Sky received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where she served as President of the Law Students Association, the Law School’s student government. Before law school, Sky participated in Teach for America, and taught English in Jacksonville, Florida.
