Overview

Curtis Ashmos represents regional mobility authorities, toll authorities and other transportation entities on a range of issues including the procurement and negotiation of design-build contracts, public private partnerships and design-bid-build contracts for the development, design and construction of roads (both tolled and non-tolled), rail, and related transportation infrastructure. He has also represented entities in connection with the negotiation of change orders and in the resolution of claims and other matter through the dispute resolution process.

Curtis has represented underwriters and corporate issuers on a range of issues, including public and private debt and equity financings, buying and selling businesses and assets, corporation formation and merger, venture capital financing, and SEC and state blue sky registration, reporting and compliance. He has helped form general and limited partnerships, restructure debt and exchange offers, and draft and negotiate complex contracts. He has also represented governmental bodies and underwriters in connection with the issuance of tax exempt obligations.

Curtis has represented clients before the Texas Securities Board, the Texas Bond Review Board, the Legislative Budget Board, the Texas Racing Commission, and the General Services Commission, and has served as legal counsel on behalf of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the Office of the Governor, the Texas Public Finance Authority and the Texas National Research Laboratory Commission.
