    LovelySkin

Locke Lord client LovelySkin successfully appealed an adverse result in a trademark case to the 8th Circuit. LovelySkin is one of the world’s largest internet retailers of cosmeceuticals, which are high-end cosmetics with pharmaceutical-grade ingredients. It filed a trademark infringement suit against a competitor, alleging the competitor was using a deceptively similar trademark for a similar business. After a District Court entered a judgment against LovelySkin on the grounds that LovelySkin’s trademark registrations for LovelySkin and LovelySkin.com were invalid, the retailer retained Locke Lord to handle post-trial motions and an appeal. On appeal, the 8th Circuit reversed the District Court's judgment that LovelySkin's trademark registrations were invalid. Locke Lord Partner Matt Furton represented LovelySkin on the post-trial motions and the appeal.
