Locke Lord LLP is serving as legal advisor to National Oilwell Varco, Inc. (NOV) in its plan to pursue a spin-off of its distribution business from the remainder of the company, creating two stand-alone, publicly traded corporations. NOV designs, manufactures, and sells equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations. The distribution company will be a provider of maintenance, repair and operating supplies to the energy and industrial markets. Locke Lord Partners Mike Peters, Mike Rutledge and Andrew Betaque are advising NOV.
